Laurie Calcaterra – Writer/Creator/Letterer – Laurie started writing for a production company, Coattail Collective, based in Detroit in 2017. She wrote and starred in the short film “Catfish-ing” and wrote the web series titled “The Agency”. She started writing Path of the Pale Rider in 2018 and decided to turn it into graphic media due to the nature of the content. After relocating to Texas in 2019, she stared moving this project in the current direction. The first issue was successfully funded on Kickstarter May of 2022. Laurie has since added her name to other indie comics such as issues 4-7 of Psycho Sal by William Russell, Big Dog Ink Anthology 14 “Allison in Oz”, Cthulhu Invades Fairyland Anthology “Astrid & Fenrir Ames”, Gemini Force by Terry Parr, “Champagne & Chaos” and hosts 2 weekly podcasts: The Tuesday Morning Brew and NE1 World Showcase, recently adding the chaotic bi-monthly “extreme” podcast “KILLER KAREN”.
She is influenced by sci-fi, horror, action films, and stories: Dune, Mad Max, The Walking Dead, East of West, Invincible, Attack on Titan, The Matrix, Lazarus, Low, The Cell, The Watchmen and many others. She follows DC comics, Marvel Comics, Image Comics, Star Wars, Star Trek, The Witcher, Game of Thrones and… you get the point. She’s a giant nerd.
Laurie is also a lifelong martial artist practitioner, having studied Pencak Silat, Kali, Eskrima, Pekiti Tersia, and Kalis Ilustrimismo from 1997 until present. Please enjoy the fist fights, knife fights, guns, flexible weapons and more in this story.
